Storm Closings
If you want to know whether or not the Center will be open on a stormy day, you should check media sources. We make a decision no later than 6:30 am, and occasionally at the end of the previous day, with each storm. The following will indicate if Brown/Fox Point ECEC has closed:

Generally, in inclement weather, Brown/Fox Point tends to follow the Providence school system. We generally close when they close and are open when they are open. However, we rarely delay opening the Center, even if Providence does.

Family Information and Emergency / Contact Forms
When your child begins to attend the center each family submits As your child begins the program year each family must submit a Family Information Form, detailing your child's habits and environment. This facilitates the transition to the program and can be a valuable reference for your child's teachers throughout the time she or he is enrolled. Updated information is welcome at any time and may be requested from time to time. A copy of the Family Information Form is included here for download:

For the safety of your child, all records of personal family information held by the Center must be kept up to date. It is the responsibility of parents to notify the office of any change of employment, address, telephone numbers, hours of work, care and/or custody arrangements, and other pertinent information regarding the family—especially contact information, which may be needed by the Center in the event of an emergency. If important information has changed, or to authorize new or different individuals to pick up your child from the Center, please complete an updated Emergency Contact Form and return it to the Center. The form can be downloaded here:

Giving & Support: United Way
Late Fall is the time of year for United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI) pledge forms. You may have seen these at your place of work; if you work at Brown University, you will soon be receiving your "Guide to Giving", which describes the program.
UWRI has changed its manner of designating recipients for funding: they no longer use donor codes but instead require the name of the actual agency. If you are interested in supporting the Center through your employer, here's what you need to do:
On the UWRI Pledge Form, there is now an "Optional Section." That is, the place where you can write in our information: Brown/Fox Point ECEC, 150 Hope Street, Providence RI 02906.
Thanks, in advance, for your support.
Giving & Support: Amazon Wish List
Brown/Fox Point maintains a Wish List of books for use in the classrooms, at Amazon.com. If you are interested in giving a book as a gift to the center, check the list here:
